EUGENE, Ore. - Junior forward Amanda Hughes had her fourth career double-double on Friday afternoon, but the Weber State University women's basketball team came up short during their second outing at the Global Sports Cage Classic.

Led by 18 points from Jenny Nash, the Nicholls State Colonels captured an 83-56 victory over the Wildcats at the University of Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena.

Hughes had 14 points and 10 rebounds, leading Weber State (0-5) in both categories. Senior forward/center Mikell Woodfield added 11 points and six rebounds, while senior guard Caela Mohre had 10 points and five rebounds for the Wildcats.

Weber State did rebound the ball strongly for the second straight day, getting more than 40 rebounds for the second time in two games.

Nicholls State (2-3) had four players in double-figures scoring.

The Wildcats opened with a 5-1 surge early, but the Colonels pulled away late in the first half and took a 39-23 advantage into the locker room.

Despite several strong attempts in the second half, Weber State couldn't cut into Nicholls State's lead.

Weber State will wrap up its participation in the Global Sports Cage Classic on Sunday when it takes on UC Irvine at 12:30 p.m.
