Cats fall to undefeated Toreros on the road

The Weber State women's basketball team fell on the road to undefeated San Diego on Sunday afternoon, 75-55.
The Toreros are off to their best start in school history at 7-0 and were led by Katelyn McDaniel who scored 22 points. Amy Kame followed McDaniel with 14 points.
Sophomore forward Regina Okoye poured in 21 points for the Wildcats to lead Weber State. Des Ramos was the other Wildcat in double-digits, scoring 15 points.
The Wildcats was heavily hindered by foul trouble. Weber State ended with three players with four fouls. Sophomore forward Jalen Carpenter had four fouls, as did senior forward Amanda Hughes and sophomore forward Kalie Matthews.
San Diego held a significant size advantage and it paid off on the boards. The Toreros outrebounded Weber State, 48-23, while outscoring the Wildcats, 38-24, in the paint.
The Cats shot 38.5 percent in the game while the Toreros shot 47.4 percent.
Weber State returns home to take on Utah Valley University on Saturday, December 7. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
