MISSOULA, Mont. – In the final road game of the season, Weber State women's basketball team fell 84-75 to the University of Montana Saturday afternoon.

"The team battled in very hostile environment of over 3,000 fans," said head coach Bethann Ord said. "We don't make excuses for anything we can't control certain things and we continue to grind. Montana has a veteran team that played very well on theor senior night. I hope our community comes out this last week to support our seniors and this group of hard working young ladies."

Weber State started the game with a 7-2 run but the Griz answered with a 7-2 run tying the game up at 9-9 half way through the first quarter. Weber State went on a 6-0 run with one minute on the clock that tied the game at 21-21 but a last second jumper by McCalle Feller gave Montana a 23-21 lead going into the second quarter.

Montana went on a 7-0 run early in the second quarter but their lead didn't last long as the Wildcats caught up and took over the lead with three minutes left in the half. The two teams remained close in score for the rest of the first half but Montana's Alycia Sims sunk a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left to give the Griz a 39-38 lead over the Wildcats going into half time.

Two Wildcats had reached double figures at halftime, Brittney Dunbar had 18 points and Emily Drake had 10 up to that point.

 The Lady Griz came out of half time with guns a blazing as they got a 45-38 jump on the Wildcats. Weber State didn't bow down and brought the score within one point with just under two minutes left in the third.

Montana had a 58-53 edge over the Wildcats going into the fourth quarter. Despite Wildcats best efforts the Lady Griz claimed an 84-75 win.

Dunbar had a new career high of 22 points and shot 10-16 from the field for 62 percent. Deeshyra Thomas and Emily Drake each contributed 15 points for the Wildcats, while Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman went 5-5 from the field for 11 points.

Dunbar had the game high of four assists, while Thomas had four steals. Thomas and Cece Wooten came out with the game high of five rebounds each.

Weber State shot 47 percent from the field 87 percent from the free throw line and only 26 percent from the three. Montana shot 56 percent from the field 84 percent from the free throw line and 42 percent from the three. Weber State was outrebounded 37-21.  The Wildcats only had eight turnovers to the Lady Griz's 13.

Weber State is now 18-9 overall on the season and 10-6 in Big Sky Conference play. The Wildcats will host Idaho March 2 and Eastern Washington March 4 in the final games of the regular season before going to Reno, Nev. for the Big Sky Championships.
