Weber State and James Madison schedule football series

Weber State University and James Madison University today announced a football home-and-home series for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

The two teams will meet at Stewart Stadium in Ogden, Utah on Sept. 18, 2021. They will then play in the season opener of the 2022 season on Sept. 3 at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

James Madison is part of the Colonial Athletic Association is one of the premier programs in the country. The Dukes won the national championship in 2004 and 2016 and have advanced to the FCS Playoffs 15 times.

Throughout most of the 2019 season, James Madison and Weber State have been ranked in the top five in the national polls. Both teams have been to the FCS Playoffs in each of the last three seasons.

The Wildcats and Dukes have met just once in football. No. 1 seed James Madison defeated Weber State 31-28 on Dec. 8, 2017, in Harrisonburg in the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs.

This announcement finalizes the 2021 Weber State football season. The Wildcats will open the 2021 season at Utah, then play at Dixie State, before hosting James Madison.
