Weber State football senior Iosua Opeta has been invited to participate in the 2019 NFL Draft Combine. The combine will be held Feb. 26 - March 4 in Indianapolis before the NFL Draft.
More than 300 NFL prospects will participate in the combine in their quest to achieve their NFL dreams. Opeta's offensive lineman workout is scheduled for March 1.
This is the second-straight year the Wildcats will have a player competing in the draft combine. The 2017 Big Sky Defensive MVP Taron Johnson was invited to the combine last year. Johnson was drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills.
Opeta is the 14th player in Weber State history to participate in the NFL combine and he's one of four players from the Big Sky invited to this year's event.
The Stansbury Park, Utah native was a consensus All-American for the Wildcats in 2018, helping Weber State to back-to-back Big Sky titles, the FCS Quarterfinals, and a final ranking of sixth in the nation.
During the season he started all 13 games for Weber State on the offensive line and served as a team captain in WSU's historic year. He also started every game of his final three seasons and finished his career playing in 50 games at Weber State.
He earned All-America honors by six different organizations and earned All-America honors in 2017 and 2018. Â
Opeta also played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 19.
He also graduated from Weber State University in December 2018 with a degree in Human Performance Management.
