OGDEN - The schedule is set and the Weber State football team will open 2022 at home.
The Wildcats will host Western Oregon University in the opener of the 2022 season. The game will be played on Thursday, September 1 at Stewart Stadium.Â
The Wildcats were originally scheduled to return a game to James Madison for the season opener, but JMU asked for a release from the game as the Dukes transition to FBS competition.Â
Western Oregon is a Division II school located in Monmouth, Oregon, and the Wolves are members of the Lone Star Conference. This will be the first meeting ever between the two schools.Â
It will mark just the second time in the last 13 years that Weber State will have six regular season home games. It will also be just the second time in the last nine years that Weber State will start the season at home.Â

The Wildcats will host Eastern Washington in the home Big Sky opener on October 8, which will also be Homecoming at Weber State. The 'Cats will also host Montana (October 29), Sacramento State (November 5), and Idaho State (November 12). WSU will also play at Portland State (October 15), Montana State (October 22), and Northern Arizona (November 19) in Big Sky play.Â
Head coach Jay Hill returns for his ninth season at Weber State. He is WSU's career leader in wins with 58 and has led the Wildcats to four Big Sky titles and five trips to the FCS Playoffs.Â
