Wildcats fall to Bobcats in Big Sky Quarterfinals

BOISE, Idaho - Weber State had a first quarter led but it was all Montana State after that as the No. 2 seeded Bobcats beat the Wildcats 80-61 in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Tournament Tuesday night in Boise.Â
How it happenedÂ
Montana State jumped out to an early 6-1 lead before a 15-3 run by the Wildcats over the next six minutes gave Weber State a 16-9 lead.Â
The Wildcats held a 21-14 lead after the first quarter but MSU came alive in the second quarter.Â
The Bobcats had a 14-0 run and regained the lead at 33-31 with less than a minute to go in the quarter. MSU led 36-33 at halftime after closing the half on a 17-2 run.Â
MSU outscored the Wildcats 45-27 in the second half.Â

The Wildcats dominated the Bobcats on the boards with a margin of 44-25, but WSU committed 22 turnovers and gave up eight 3-pointers by Montana State. MSU shot 47 percent from the field and held the Wildcats to 40 percent shooting and just three 3-pointers.Â
In her final game as a Wildcat, senior Kori Pentzer led the way with 17 points. She was 7 of 12 from the field and grabbed four rebounds.Â
Daryn Hickok added 10 points and eight rebounds and Emma Torbert had nine points and nine rebounds.Â
The loss ended WSU's season at 11-20 overall. The Wildcats beat Sacramento State on Monday night in the first round of the tournament for their first tournament win in five years.Â
