WSU football adds three future FCS home-and-home series

Weber State has scheduled future games with Lamar, Northwestern State, and McNeese, starting in 2024.
Weber State football has scheduled three future FCS home-and-home football series starting in 2024. WSU has added future games with Lamar, Northwestern State, and McNeese. All three schools are members of the Southland Conference.Â
Weber State will play at Lamar in 2024 and host the Cardinals in 2028. The games are scheduled for September 14, 2024, at Lamar, located in Beaumont, Texas, and September 9, 2028, in Ogden. The two teams have never met in football.Â
The Wildcats will have a series with Northwestern State, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, in 2024 and 2026. WSU will play at Northwestern State on September 21, 2024, then host the Demons on September 19, 2026, in Ogden. This will be the first meeting ever between the two schools.Â
Weber State will host McNeese on September 28, 2024, at Stewart Stadium, and play the Cowboys on the road on September 13, 2025. McNeese is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The two schools have met four times over the years, including a series in 2012 and 2013.Â
In addition, the 2024 Big Sky Conference opener with Portland State at Stewart Stadium has been moved to September 7.Â
With the addition of these games, Weber State's 2024 schedule is set. The Wildcats will open the season at Washington on August 31, before returning home to host Portland State. The games at Lamar and Northwestern State will follow, before hosting McNeese to end non-conference play.Â
Weber State also hosts Northern Colorado, Idaho State, and Cal Poly in Big Sky play in 2024 and will play at Montana, Sacramento State, Northern Arizona, and Idaho.Â
