BOISE, Idaho – The Weber State women's basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 63-52 loss to the Northern Colorado Bears on Saturday afternoon in Idaho Central Arena.
Two three pointers from Laura Taylor helped rally the 'Cats from a large deficit early on. Weber State fought and clawed its way back to trail by just four at the end of the period.
The Wildcats just couldn't get shots to fall in the second frame. Daryn Hickok scored four of her team-leading 15 points in the second frame, but the Bears held a 31-20 lead at the half.
WSU's offense came around in the third, however, as Jadyn Matthews' shots started to fall and get the Wildcats rolling. Matthews scored on four of her five field goal attempts in the third quarter as the offense put up a 17-point outburst.
Matthews tacked on another four points in the fourth quarter as the 'Cats scored a balanced 15 points to close out the game, but it wasn't enough to extend their season. Weber State (6-25) fell to Northern Colorado and its Big Sky Conference Tournament run came to an end.
