Munier-Bailey, Thompson All-Americans 2024

Kemari Munier-Bailey and Kyle Thompson earn All-America honors

Munier-Bailey was named to the FCS Central All-America Third Team and Thompson earned honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press.

Two Weber State football seniors have earned All-America honors following the 2024 season. 

Weber State senior defensive end Kemari Munier-Bailey was named to the FCS Central All-America Third Team and senior kicker Kyle Thompson earned honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press. 

Kemari Munier-Bailey, a senior transfer to Weber State this season, made an immediate impact with the Wildcat defense and earned All-America honors for the first time in his career as he was named to the FCS Central All-America Third team on defense. He also earned second team All-Big Sky honors.  

Munier-Bailey played in all 12 games for the Wildcats and finished the regular season tied for the most tackles for loss in the conference and second in sacks.  

He ranks ninth in the nation in tackles for loss and had 18.5 this season, which is tied for the sixth-most in a season in Weber State history. He had at least one tackle for loss in eight games this season and had a career-high six tackles for loss with three sacks in Weber State's win at Northwestern State, which earned him the National Defensive Player of the Week honor. 

He also had nine sacks on the season, tied for the ninth most in a season in school history, and finished the season ranked 19th in the country in sacks. He had at least one sack in six games this season. 

In WSU's win at Northwestern State, Munier-Bailey had eight tackles with six tackles for loss and three sacks and was named the National Defensive Player of the Week. 

He also had nine quarterback hurries and two pass breakups during the season. 

Munier-Bailey played two seasons at Idaho in the Big Sky, then one season at Fresno State, before transferring to Weber State in the summer of 2024. 

Kyle Thompson earned honorable mention honors as part of the Associated Press All-America Team, which was the first All-America honors of his career. 

Thompson finished his five-year career at Weber State in 2024 and played in 52 games as a Wildcat. He started during the spring 2021 season. 

This season he was 19 of 26 on field goals and finished second in the nation in field goals per game at 1.73 per game. He made at least two field goals in five games this season. 

Thompson finished his career with two career school records. He holds the WSU career scoring record and finished his career with 370 points, which is also the sixth-most in Big Sky Conference history. 

He also ended his career tied for the most made field goals in Weber State history with 67. In Weber State's final game of 2024, a win over Cal Poly, Thompson tied a school record with five field goals made and was named the Big Sky Player of the Week. 

Munier-Bailey and Thompson were two of the seven seniors on this year's Wildcat team.
