Wildcats drop 79-72 decision to Bison

12/6/2025 2:49:00 PM | Women's Basketball

OGDEN - Weber State women's basketball fought hard in Ogden but ultimately fell 79-72 to the Bison.

The Wildcats finished a closely contested first quarter against the Bison with a 21-20 lead, powered by a strong offense. Weber State started strong with a Hannah Robbins layup and two successful free throws. Their impressive shooting included going 5-for-6 from the three-point line, with Antoniette Emma-Nnopu contributing three of those successful attempts.

North Dakota State briefly led at 28-27, but the Wildcats stayed close. Weber State regained the lead, 40-38, thanks to three successful free throws, but a late jumper by the Bison tied the game at 40 just before halftime. Weber State finished the half shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 75 percent from three-point range, while the Bison shot 62.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc.

North Dakota State went on a tough 7-0 run to open the third quarter, creating a deficit the Wildcats could not overcome. Despite scoring a couple of points from free throws, the Wildcats were unable to string together a run, and the quarter ended with them down 64-53.

The final frame played out in a similar fashion, as Weber State totaled 19 points, seven of which came from free throws. Although Weber State managed to chip away at the deficit to trail by just seven points, it all came to an end as the Bison secured the game 79-72.

Wildcat Stats
  • Antoniette Emma-Nnopu totaled a career-high 27 points along with 11 rebounds.
  • The Wildcats finished the game shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from behind the arc compared to the Bison's 50.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from the arc.
Big Sky Summit League Challenge
The two leagues will compete for a combined trophy, with both men's and women's results taken into account equally from a total of 36 games.

Victories in the challenge will be weighted differently based on whether they occur at home or on the road. Teams will be awarded one (1) point for a victory on their home floor. If a road team emerges with a win, it will be awarded one and one-half (1.5) points for the result.

The conference with the highest total points combined from both men's and women's results will be declared the winner.

If there is a tie in points following the conclusion of all contests, the first tiebreaker will be the total margin of victory. If there is still a tie following the calculation of the margin of victory, the two commissioners will compete in an arm-wrestling contest at the Final Four to determine the champion.

The Summit League currently holds the trophy, having won the challenge for two consecutive seasons.
