Wildcats Fall to Long Beach

Weber State soccer fell 3-0 to Long Beach State Saturday afternoon at George Allen Field.
The Wildcats recorded six shots throughout the match, with Amanda Caswell recording Weber State's lone shot on goal. Long Beach State finished with 17 shots, including nine on frame.
Long Beach State opened the scoring in the 29th minute, finding the back of the net at 28:15 to take a 1-0 lead.
The Beach added another goal just before halftime at 45:32, taking a 2-0 advantage into the break.
Long Beach State extended its lead in the 73rd minute, scoring at 72:52 to make it a 3-0 match.
Weber State continued to look for opportunities throughout the match, with Nellie Brooks, Bonnie Buswell, Emery Jacobs, Oakley Anderson, Caswell and Simone Packer each recording a shot.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Butorac made six saves for the Wildcats and played 81:47 minutes. Lily Loyet entered in the 82nd minute and played the final 8:13, keeping Long Beach State scoreless during her time in goal.
The Wildcats will now look to regroup as they continue the 2026 season and prepare for their next matchup.
Weber State will return to action next week at Pacific on Thursday.
