Tutoring Services

There are several tutoring services available on campus, all of which are free to all students at Weber State. The following is a partial list of some of the tutoring services:

The Tutoring Services Office, located in the Student Services Building room 265, provides tutors for most of the General Education classes. For those students who receive Federal Financial Aid, i.e. Pell Grants can go to Tutoring Services and receive help in some upper division and major classes. A list of tutors will be distributed to all coaches by the second week of each semester.

The Literacy Center, located in Annex 12, provides assistance with English 0960, 1010, and 2010 classes. They also provide help for Math 0960, 1010, and 1050 classes. The Literacy Center provides programs to help students with competency tests and to establish sound fundamentals in English and Math.

The Writing Center, located in the Social Science Building, provides assistance with all aspects of writing papers. This includes basic grammar and punctuation to assist with the construction of a research paper.

The Math Lab is located on the first floor of the Student Services Building and can help with all math classes.

Each Department provides tutoring services for many of their classes. If your needs are not met through any of the above areas, the athletic department will provide tutors. It is important that you arrange all of your tutoring needs through the Academic Coordinator.

It is important to remember that the use of a tutor is to help you understand course materials. The tutor is not meant to or should be asked to do the work for you. Any improper use of the tutoring services provided will be dealt with immediately. If you have any questions or concerns about the use of tutors, please contact the Academic Coordinator.
