Academic Standing

A student-athlete’s academic standing and eligibility are determined by two important measurements of course work attempted and hours earned.

they are:

1) Your progress towards your degree on a semester-by-semester basis.

2) The certifiable hours towards your eligibility status are on the same semester-by-semester basis.

To be in good academic standing with the university and NCAA you must be registered for a minimum of 12 hours, all of which need to go towards your officially declared major. If you drop below the 12 hour minimum your NCAA eligibility will be affected and you will no longer be able to practice or compete. It is recommended that you take at least 15 hours every semester to maintain eligibility and continue to make satisfactory progress towards your degree.

NEVER DROP A CLASS WITHOUT FIRST NOTIFYING THE ACADEMIC COORDINATOR, SHE WILL REMOVE THE HOLD PLACED ON YOUR RECORDS. THIS IS TRUE EVEN IF YOU WILL REMAIN ABOVE THE 12 HOUR MINIMUM REQUIREMENT.
