Doug returns as a junior on the defensive line out of Manti, Utah. He earned All-Big Sky honors in 2021.
He has played in 30 games over the last three seasons at Weber State and has 36 tackles with 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
2021 (Junior)
Earned honorable mention All-Big Sky honors for the first time in his career…Played in 10 games during the season and recorded 22 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss…Had four tackles against Utah and Cal Poly…Also had 1.5 tackles for loss against Cal Poly, including one sack for a loss of seven yards…Earned All-Big Sky Academic honors in Mechanical Engineering.
Played in all six games during the spring season, helping Weber State to a fourth straight Big Sky Championship...Recorded five total tackles on the season with four solo tackles...Had three tackles in WSU’s epic win over Northern Arizona...Also had one tackle for loss against NAU...Blocked a field goal attempt in WSU’s home win over Idaho State on April 10.

Played in 14 games during Weber State’s historic season, helping WSU win a third-straight Big Sky title and advance to the FCS Semifinals…Finished with nine total tackles with five solo tackles and four assisted tackles...Also had one fumble recovery, in a win over Cal Poly...Earned Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors in Mechanical Engineering.

Sat out the year as a red shirt during WSU’s second-straight Big Sky title season.

Graduated from Manti High School in 2016 where he played for coach Cole Meacham with the Templars...Earned First Team All-State and All-Region honors as a junior and senior at Manti...Recorded 111 tackles with nine sacks as a senior...Was named to the honor roll all four years at Manti.

Was born March 26, 1998, in Fairbanks, Alaska...Parents are James and Teri Schiess...His wife's name is Amelia...Is majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Weber State...Is the third Schiess brother to be a part of the Wildcat football family...Brother Blake was a member of the Wildcat team in 2015 and 2016 and brother Jared finished his career in 2021 as a three-time All-Big Sky performer... Signed with Weber State in February 2016 before serving an LDS Church mission to Bahia Blanca, Argentina.
