Tanner played in eight games as a true freshman in 2011 but injuries forced him to end his career with the Wildcats.

2011 (Freshman)
Had a strong freshman year for the Wildcats and saw action in the first eight games of the season...Missed the last three games due to injuries...Was one of five running backs that saw significant action during the season...Was fourth on the Wildcat team in rushing, finishing with 349 total rushing yards on 67 carries...Had four rushing touchdowns during the season...Had a career-high 104 yards and one touchdown in WSU’s home opening 49-17 win over Sacramento State Sept. 17...Also had rushing touchdowns against Wyoming, Utah State and Southern Utah...Had 80 rushing yards in WSU’s Homecoming win over Idaho State on Oct. 15...Finished the year with five receptions for 62 yards...Also had one kickoff return.

Graduated from Davis High School in 2010 where he played for Coach Ryan Bishop...Was named the 2009 Utah Class 5A MVP...Led the Darts to the 2009 5A state championship game...Had 281 carries for 1,931 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2009 and finished with 2,578 all-purpose yards...Averaged 148.5 rushing yards per game...Earned First Team 5A All-State Honors.
