Joe Strand was named the Weber State Associate Athletic Director in August 2023. He returned to WSU where he previously worked for more than 17 years.

In his role, Strand oversees all gameday operations and event management for Wildcat Athletics, as well as athletic facilities and operations. He also oversees the Marketing and Promotions and externals relations at Weber State.

He returned to WSU in August 2023 after spending the previous seven years as the Director of Sport Development with the Utah Sports Commission.

He worked at Weber State for more than 17 years from 1998-2016. He was the Event Manager/Guest Services Director at the Dee Events Center for 12 years. In 2010, he was elevated to the Assistant Director of the Dee Events Center.

Strand has three degrees from Weber State University. He graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and also a bachelor’s degree in History. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2010.

He and his wife Angie have four daughters Jersey, Dylan, Olive, and Daphne.
