Kayla Morgan is the Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator for Weber State Athletics.Â
Morgan moved to her new role in administration in March 2022 after spending seven seasons as an assistant coach with the Weber State volleyball team.Â
During her tenure with the volleyball team, she was part of unprecedented success with the Wildcats, including helping lead Weber State to back-to-back Big Sky titles in spring 2021 and 2021. She also was a part of the school’s first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament and a tournament victory during the spring 2021 season.Â
She came to Weber State in February 2015 as an assistant coach under new Wildcat head coach Jeremiah Larsen. Her roles on the staff included time as the recruiting coordinator, defensive coordinator, and player development. She coached several All-Big Sky performers, including conference MVP’s Rylin Adams in spring 2021 and Dani Nay in 2021.Â
A native of Kaysville, Utah, Morgan was a high school All-American volleyball player at Davis High School. She then played collegiately at Pepperdine and BYU, where she graduated with a degree in Social Science Education in 2011.Â
Prior to coaching at Weber State, she played professionally for Utah Unity of the Premier Volleyball League, and internationally at Pislaploki in Finland. She was also the head coach at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah.Â
Morgan played two seasons of college volleyball at Pepperdine University where she earned All-West Coast Conference honors before transferring for her final two seasons at BYU, where she also earned All-Mountain West honors as an outside hitter.Â
She is a graduate of Davis High School where she was a PrepVolleyball.com All-American her senior year. She graduated from BYU in 2011 with a degree in Social Science Education.Â
She is mother to a son, Brooks.Â
