She previously spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Weber State, working with the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country teams.

Anderson is a member of the Weber State Athletics Hall of Fame and the Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame. She was also the first Weber State athlete in any sport to compete in the Summer Olympics as she qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the steeplechase.

Anderson returns to Weber State after spending the past year as the head cross country coach and the assistant distance coach at the University of Missouri. During her time with the Tigers, she led the women’s team to a top-15 finish in every race and coached one athlete to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Prior to Missouri, she spent five years as the head men’s and women’s cross country coach at the College of Southern Idaho where she restarted the program and led the Golden Eagles women’s team to the 2021 NJAA Division I National Cross Country Championship, the first in school history.

During her five seasons at CSI, both the men’s and women’s cross country teams placed in the top 10 in the nation every season. She was twice named the National Women’s Coach of the Year and was the program’s architect as it was re-started after a 19-year hiatus. During the 2020 season, she led the men’s team to a runner-up finish at the national meet, the highest in school history.

Prior to her time at CSI, Anderson also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Cal State Bakersfield.

She was an assistant coach at Weber State from 2007-14, where she contributed to recruiting and training and coached All-Americans Amber Henry and Sarah Callister.

In July of 2008, Anderson became the first student-athlete from Weber State to qualify for the Summer Olympics after finishing second overall at the U.S. Olympic Trials for the steeplechase, posting a personal-best time of 9:30.75 to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Anderson's success in the steeplechase has also led her to the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, Japan, the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Germany and she competed in the 2020 Olympics Marathon Trial in Atlanta, Georgia, finishing in the top 10 percent.

During her Hall of Fame career at Weber State from 2004-07, Anderson was a two-time All-American and set multiple school records. She set the WSU school records in the steeplechase and 10,000 meters in outdoor track and field and the 5,000 meters in indoor. She won six Bix Sky individual championships and won three conference titles in relay competitions for the Wildcats. Anderson was also named the Big Sky's Track Athlete of the Meet twice and was selected as the league's representative for the NCAA Woman of the Year award in 2007.

As a senior in 2007, she became the collegiate steeplechase record holder and became the first athlete in Big Sky history to win the conference title in the steeplechase, 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters in the same championship.

She was named one of the Big Sky Conference’s 25 Greatest Female Athletes of all time in 2014 and was inducted into the Weber State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
