OMAHA, Neb. -- Weber State fell to 3-4-1 on the season Sunday as they dropped a 2-0 decision to Creighton University (5-3-0) at Morrison Stadium.
The Wildcats out-shot the Jays 15-13, but put only managed to put three on-goal, compared to eight for Creighton.
The Jays got all the offense they would need in the eighth minute as Emily Orbell received a pass from Marcy Gans at eight yards out in the box. Orbell beat WSU keeper Deysha Victorine for what proved to be the game-winner.
In the 24th minute, Creighton received an insurance goal from the Wildcats. As Ashtyn Webster attempted to head clear a service ball into the box, she inadvertently placed the ball in the WSU net for an own-goal.
Victorine dropped to 1-2-1 on the season, despite recording five saves in the match.
The Wildcats will next head to Hawaii, where they will face the University of Hawaii on Sep. 28 and BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 1. The trip to the islands will conclude the team's non-conference schedule. The 'Cats begin Big Sky play on Oct. 12 on the road at Sacramento State.
