Eagles Fly Past Wildcats

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Eastern Michigan outscored Weber State 44-20 in the second half on Monday, running away for a 77-47 victory at Convocation Center.
The Wildcats committed 23 turnovers and shot just 32 percent from the field. The Eagles also dominated the 'Cats on the boards, outrebounding WSU 47-26 for the game.
EMU's Tavelyn James led all scorers with 18 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field. The Eagles also got double figures out of Cassie Schrock (17) and De'Ja Wills (12).
Weber State's top scorer, Tonya Schnibbe was held to eight points on the night as she shot just 3 of 14 from the floor. Schnibbe, the Big Sky's assist leader, committed more turnovers than assists for the first time this year with eight giveaways and only four assists.
Karlee Weight led the Wildcats with nine points on 3 of 4 shooting from the field. She also hauled in four rebounds.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 5-7 on the season as they head into the Big Sky Conference schedule this week. The Eagles improved to 4-7 with the win.
