JEFF LINDER LEAVES WSU TO

JOIN HOOP STAFF AT SAN FRANCISCO

(For Release on Friday, April  25, 2008)

OGDEN, UTAH - Jeff Linder, an assistant men's basketball coach for the past two seasons under head coach Randy Rahe, is leaving to join the men's basketball staff at the University of San Francisco under new head coach Rex Walters. Linder is expect to begin his duties this coming Monday.

"While we are saddened to see Jeff leave our program, we are excited and happy about this opportunity for him and his family. It's one of those opportunities he couldn't pass up. Jeff has a bright future ahead of him in the coaching profession. He did a terrific job for us the past couple of years and we are going to miss him." said Rahe.

Linder joined the Wildcat staff in the Spring of 2006 coming to Ogden from Midland, Texas Junior College where he served as an assistant for two seasons. Two players off of that Midland team, Arturuas Valeika and Daviin Davis, came to Weber State.

Before coaching at Midland, Linder spent three seasons at Emporia State as an assistant to David Moe. The other assistant on the staff was Rex Walters for whom Linder will be working under at USF.

"I owe a great deal to so many people for the opportunity to work at Weber State," said Linder. "I would like to thank the administration, President Millner and Dr. Tarbox specifically, for taking time out of their busy schedules to show us and our players how much they truly care about the success of the men's basketball program. To Jerry Graybeal and those in athletic administration who understand what it takes to operate a winning program and to the players who trusted and believed the vision we had for the men's basketball program and most importantly to Coach Rahe who brought me in and gave me this opportunity to further my career. Me and my family leave Ogden with nothing but fond memories and we will miss everyone."

Linder and his wife, Kelli, are parents of a daughter, Adison and son, Jordan Jeffrey.
