Big Sky Hopes End For Wildcats

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sacramento State completed a first-ever season sweep of Weber State on Saturday afternoon with a 59-53 win at the Hornets Nest. The loss ends the Wildcats' hopes of earning a berth in the Big Sky Conference tournament.
The Wildcats (9-19 overall; 4-11 Big Sky) were led by Tonya Schnibbe, who scored 14 points, but hit only 6 of 20 shots from the field. Caitlin Anderson posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Joey O'Neill also reached double figures in rebounds with 11 boards.
Sacramento State's Charday Hunt led all scorers with 18 points on 7 of 13 shooting from the floor. Erika Edwards posted a double-double for the Hornets with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wildcats led by three points at the half, but Sacramento State (8-20; 6-9) rallied to outscore WSU 33-24 over the final 20 minutes.
