GREELEY, Colo. - Sophomore left side hitter Bethany Wray had nine kills to lead the Weber State University women's volleyball team on Saturday night, but it wasn't quite enough to overcome Big Sky Conference-leading Northern Colorado on the road.
Led by Ashley Lichtenberg's 16 kills, the Bears swept the Wildcats in a spirited 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-21) sweep at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
Redshirt-freshman middle blocker Elli Graff added six kills, sophomore middle blocker Carissa Noble had five kills and freshman left side hitter Piper Wahlin notched five kills for the Wildcats.
Junior libero Nina Blake had 10 digs and a service ace for Weber State, which fell to 1-11 in Big Sky play (3-22 overall).
Weber State returns home to face Sacramento State on Friday at 2 p.m. in Swenson Gym, followed by in-state rival Utah on Saturday at 7 p.m.
