WSU MEN
Coach Dan Walker's men will have a full squad for Saturday's meet. Walker says it's time for his crew to mentally and physically start preparing for the Big Sky Conference Championship which are three weeks away.
“We are treating this like a mini-Big Sky meet,” said Walker. “Most of our athletes will be competing in the event they will compete in at the Conference meet. Many of our distance runners will be doubling so it should be a good meet to see where we are physically and mentally.”
Walker said an exception will be Taylor Pebley and Tyler McBee. Both are outstanding 400 Meter hurdlers but will run in different events on Saturday. Pebley is set to run in the 400 meters and McBee in the 200 meters.
“Hopefully those two can qualify in those events for the Conference meet which would really give up more options.” said Walker.

LAST WEEK
Competing in the MT. SAC Relays and the Mark Faldmo Invitational, the men posted 27 season bests and posted some impressive times and marks.   ...   At MT SAC, Brett Hales posted a career best time of 8:49.67 in the Steeplechase. WSU WOMEN
Coach Jim Blaisdell says all he wants is for his team to survive the weekend without another injury.
“We've been hit hard by the injury bug, but sometimes that happens, especially in our sport,” said Blaisdell. “We really wanted our fans to see freshman Tiffany Hellstrom perform for the first time in front of a home crowd in the javelin, but she's had a bad case of tendonitis so she won't be throwing this week. Jessica Carter is out with a foot injury which affects us in the 800 and on our 4x400 relay team and Natalie Haws may be done for the Spring with a foot injury. But, we will compete with who we have and won't worry about times or marks but concentrate on competing and winning this week.”
Blaisdell said freshman Sarah Callister will take a break from the long distance races and run in the 1,500 meters this week.
“Sarah has run a 5,000 and 10,000 meter race in the last three weeks so we are giving her a brief respite this week.” said Blaisdell. “
