PORTLAND, Ore. - Freshman outside hitter Mackenzie Clark had seven kills on Saturday night, but it wasn't enough for the Weber State University women's volleyball team against the defending Big Sky Conference champions.
Portland State captured a straight-set victory over Weber State, taking a 25-14, 25-21, 25-15 win at the Peter W. Stott Center.
The Wildcats fell to 0-2 in Big Sky play, 0-12 overall, while the Vikings improved to 1-1 and 5-9.
Clark's seven kills and .250 attack percentage led WSU, while junior outside hitter Bethany
Wray and sophomore outside hitter Briana Wilms each added six for Weber State.
Freshman middle blocker Ashley Orr had four blocks for the Wildcats.
Portland State captured the first and third sets in convincing fashion, taking an 11-point and 10-point wins, respectively. Weber State battled hard in the second set, but fell just short.
