GREELEY, Colo. - Redshirt freshman outside hitter Rebecca Fuchs had eight kills and six digs, and junior outside hitter Piper Wahlin had seven kills and six digs, but it wasn't enough for the Weber State University women's volleyball team on Thursday night.

Led by Kelley Arnold, the reigning Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player, the University of Northern Colorado captured a 25-16, 25-16, 25-8 victory over the Wildcats at Butler-Hancock Pavilion in Big Sky play.

Weber State (2-11 Big Sky, 8-16 overall) battled early in each of the first two sets with Northern Colorado (9-4, 16-7), but the Bears made strong finishes in each of the sets to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Wildcats held a 3-2 lead in the third set, but the Bears quickly put together a push to open up the set and close out the match.

Weber State will be back in action at 6 p.m. on Saturday when the Wildcats make their first-ever trip to North Dakota when they travel to Grand Forks, N.D. to face the University of North Dakota at Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. North Dakota is 6-7 in Big Sky play (11-13 overall) and is coming off a 3-0 loss to Idaho State on Thursday. UND defeated Weber State 3-2 in Ogden earlier this year in the first meeting between the two schools.
