Wildcats fall at #22 Oklahoma State

The Weber State women's basketball team fell on the road against 22nd-ranked Oklahoma State on Sunday, 101-49.
The Wildcats simply ran into a bigger opponent, getting outrebounded for the first time on the season, 46-28. Kalie Matthews scored 18 points in the game to tie Oklahoma State's LeShawn Jones as the game's leading scorer.
The Cowgirls, however, had four other players score in double digits in the game while Matthews was the only Wildcat in double digits. Matthews and freshman center Jalen Carpenter each had seven rebounds to lead the Wildcats on the boards.
They were just one rebound behind Jones and Brittney Martin of Oklahoma State who led all rebounders with eight each.
Freshman guard Desiree Ramos added nine points for the Wildcats, who shot 30.4 percent in the game. The Cowgirls shot a staggering 58.9 percent in the game, but the biggest difference was turnovers. The Wildcats had 29 in the game to Oklahoma State's 19.
Weber State's 29 turnovers led to 28 Cowgirl points while the Wildcats only had 14 points off Oklahoma State turnovers.
Meanwhile, the Cowgirls had 62 points in the paint to Weber State's 30.
The Wildcats will hit the hardwood again on Wednesday night when Army comes to the Dee Events Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
