The Weber State Spirit Squad captured a title at the USA All-Star & Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships last weekend in Anaheim, California.

The Wildcat squad won first place in the Large Co-Ed Cheer Division at the Anaheim Convention Center, defeating New Mexico State and Colorado Mesa University in the finals to win the event.

Weber State had one of the highest point totals of any school in any division at the competition that included more than 70 schools from various divisions.

In addition, the Wildcats had entries in the dance and partner stunt divisions.  Jordan West and Jessica Salazar finished fourth in the Partner Stunt Division with Riley Palmer and Torie Van Orden coming in fifth and Tyrel Gailey and Tasha Petroff claiming sixth place.  Paul Thorpe and Cassie Jo Taylor also competed.

The WSU dancer squad finished in a tie for seventh place in the Open Dance division.

Summer Willis is the advisor and coach for the WSU Spirit Squad.  The dancers are coached by Ashley Hartison.
