Wildcats swept by Lumberjacks in Big Sky play

OGDEN, Utah - The Wildcats struggled to put their best foot forward on Saturday afternoon, and the Lumberjacks took full advantage.
The Weber State University women's volleyball team hit just .019 and had 29 kills as it fell 25-18, 25-10, 25-12 to Northern Arizona in Big Sky Conference action at Swenson Gym.
Redshirt freshman Rebecca Fuchs led Weber State with nine kills, and no other Wildcat managed more than five as WSU dropped to 0-2 in Big Sky play and 6-7 overall. Weber State also fell to 0-2 at home.
Senior libero Laurel Bodily had eight digs to lead WSU, while senior setter Caitlin Penrod had 26 assists, four digs and three blocks.
After trading points early, Northern Arizona surged ahead 19-10 in the first set and held off Weber State's attempt at a rally after the Wildcats closed within 22-17, taking a 1-0 lead in the match.
Weber State continued to struggle in the second set, falling behind 20-5, after committing 10 attacking errors.
Much like the first two sets, the Lumberjacks rolled out to a sizable lead in the set and cruised to the 25-12 win and sweep of the match.
Weber State will be back in action on Thursday night what they Wildcats host Big Sky newcomer North Dakota. First serve from Swenson Gym will be at 7 p.m.
