Wildcats swept 3-0 at Portland State

Portland State never trailed and hit .542 in route to sweeping Weber State 3-0 Saturday night at the Stott Center. The Vikings won the match 25-9, 25-11, 25-15 to improve to 11-9 overall and 8-2 in Big Sky play. Weber State now sits at 5-19 overall and is 1-9 in Big Sky play, midway through the conference season.
The .542 hitting percentage is the best against the Wildcats all season. WSU hit .121 in the match.
The Vikings ran off a 17-4 run in the middle of the first set. It was the second time this season the 'Cats had nine points in a set.
PSU had a 14-5 run in the second set and hit .500 for the set with 15 kills and just one error. Weber State did hit .333 in the second set, totaling 10 kills and two errors. The Vikings had 14 kills and two errors in the third set.
For the match Portland State had 43 kills and just four attacking errors. The Vikings also recorded 10 aces and had two blocks. The Wildcats did not have a block for the first time this season.
Audrey Biggs led Weber State with 10 kills. No other Wildcat had more than three. McKay Tarbox had a match-high 12 digs and Whitney Hunt had two aces.
The Wildcats now return home for four straight matches beginning Thursday against Northern Arizona.
