Henry advances to finals at USA Championships

Weber State senior Amber Henry has advanced to the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Henry will compete Saturday for a chance to represent the United States at the World Championships.
Henry finished second in her heat and fourth overall in the event Thursday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. She posted a time of 9:58.20 to earn a qualifying spot for Saturday's finals. She was the top collegiate finisher in the race, which includes the top collegiate and professional athletes in the nation.
The women's steeplechase finals will be held Saturday at 3:20 p.m. MDT and will be televised live on NBC Sports Network. The top three finishers in the finals will represent Team USA at the IAAF World Championships in August in Moscow, Russia.
