Weber State rolls to 94-48 win over Bristol

OGDEN – Weber State University women's basketball team came up victorious against Bristol University Monday night with a 94-48 win. Freshman Kailie Quinn had five three-pointers that led to her being the high scorer of the game.
Weber State jumped out to an early 16-0 lead in the first half. By the end of the first half the Wildcats led the Bears 31-27 at half-time. The second half Weber State really took off and never looked back. At one point in the second half the Wildcats were up by 54 points.
“That was a scrappy game,” Head Coach Bethann Ord said. “Bristol came in and battled and they didn't lay down for us. Our team did a really good job of working together when things got rough.”
WSU was led by freshman Kailie Quinn who had 21 points, 15 of which were made from outside the arc. Junior Regina Okoye put up her first double double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Okoye also had five steals and three assists. Junior Tinisha Toussaint pulled down her career high of 13 rebounds. Senior Carlee Lough dropped her career high in points with nine.
“Our girls really supported each other tonight and you can tell by the numbers they put up,” Ord said. “They were cheering for each other on the bench and on the court. They picked each other up and took care of each other.”
The Wildcats shot 40 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free-throw line. As a team they had 27 assists. Weber State out rebounded Bristol 70-39.
The Wildcats head on the road for the next two games. First stopping at Air Force in Colo. on Thursday Nov. 20 and then to in-state rival Utah Valley in Orem, Utah, Saturday, Nov. 22.
