POCATELLO, Idaho – Weber State dropped its final game of the 2014 football season as the Wildcats came up short 46-28 to Idaho State Saturday afternoon at Holt Arena.

The game got off to a wild start with 21 points scored in the first 3:15 of the game. Idaho State scored just 1:08 into the game to take a 7-0 lead but the Wildcats came right back with a five-play, 65-yard drive that ended with a Jadrian Clark to Shaydon Kehano touchdown that took just 1:49 to play. WSU then added a two-point conversion and led 8-7. On the next play from scrimmage Idaho State's Daniel McSurdy ran 75-yards for a touchdown to make it 13-8 with 11:45 left in the first quarter.

McSurdy followed that with a 54-yard touchdown run later in the quarter to give ISU a 19-8 lead. The Bengals led 29-14 at halftime.

The Wildcats scored first in the third quarter when Billy Green found Karl Finai for a 13-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 29-21. The Bengals came back with a touchdown to make it 36-21, but the Wildcats countered as Bo Bolen ran for a 32-yard score to make it 36-28 at the end of the third quarter.

After an ISU field goal made it 39-28, the Wildcats were driving late in the game but fumbled the ball on a fourth down attempt at the ISU 19-yard line, which gave ISU the ball. The Bengals tacked on a touchdown in the final minute of the game.

Idaho State racked up 655 yards of total offense, the fourth most yards ever given up by Weber State. The Wildcats had 463 yards off offense themselves and both teams had 81 offensive plays. The Bengals rushed for 333 yards and passed for 322 yards while the Wildcats had 184 yards on the ground and 279 yards passing.

Bolen led the Wildcats playing in his 45th and final game at Weber State. Bolen had 27 rushing attempts for 137 yards and one touchdown. He finished his career as the sixth leading rushing in school history with 2,210 career yards. Saturday Bolen also became Weber State's and the Big Sky's career leader in kickoff return yards.

“We gave up too many yards and too many big plays today,” said WSU head coach Jay Hill. “Idaho State really moved the ball well and you have to give them credit. We never quit and we gave ourselves a chance. We did a lot of things well but we gave up too much defensively.”

Jadrian Clark started the game and was 4-of-11 yards passing for 87 yards before leaving the game with a shoulder injury. Green finished the game 17-of-26 passing for 192 yards and one touchdown.

Senior Shaydon Kehano had six receptions for 79 yards and touchdown in his final game as a Wildcat and finished his career fifth in school history in receiving yards. Cameron Livingston had three catches for 77 yards as eight different Wildcats had receptions in the game.

The Wildcat defense and two interceptions and forced a fumble. Josh Burton and Taron Johnson each had interceptions and Cordero Dixon forced a fumble. Connor Myers had five tackles and a sack in his final game at Weber State.

The loss ends WSU's season at 2-10 overall and 2-6 in Big Sky play. It was also Weber State's first loss to Idaho State since 2002. Saturday's game was the final game for 10 Wildcat seniors.
