Two Wildcats hit career highs, down CS Fullerton

FULLERTON, Cali. – Weber State women's basketball team took down CS Fullerton with a 60-40 score. Kailie Quinn drained six from beyond the arc for a new career high. Brittney Dunbar also had a career high with 17 points.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early 10-4 lead. With 1:23 left on the clock Dunbar sunk a three point shot that gave the Wildcats a 10 point lead. The quarter ended with a 19-9 lead.
Weber State advanced their lead to 24-10 but the Titans went on a 7-0 run to bring the score within seven points at 24-17. Late in the second quarter Weber State went on a 7-0 run to take back a double digit lead at 33-21.
The Wildcats had a 33-22 lead going into halftime. In the first half, WSU shot 14 or 36 from the field for a 38.9 percentage. Weber State had only four turnovers in the first half. Dunbar led the Wildcats in the first half with 10 points and Quinn had three made baskets from beyond the arc.
The third quarter started with a 4:50 scoring drought from both teams. Quinn ended the drought with her fourth three pointer of the game giving the Wildcats a 14 point lead. The third quarter ended with a 45-29 score.
Weber State started the fourth quarter on a 6-2 run, never giving CSF a chance to catch up. The Wildcats kept up the momentum all the way to the finish for a 60-40 final score.
Quinn led the Wildcats with four assists and 21 points, including six made three pointers for a new career high. Dunbar also reached a new career high with 17 points. Deeshyra Thomas and Regina Okoye each had three steals. Okoye also led the team in rebounding pulling down seven boards.
The Wildcats are now 3-1 on the season. They will next go to Portland on Nov. 27 before heading to North Texas to take on North Texas and Stephen F. Austin. Weber State will return home on Dec. 10 to take on in-state rival BYU.
