WSU undefeated on the road, beat North Texas 45-38

Denton, Texas – Weber State remains undefeated on the road with a 45-38 victory over the University of North Texas.
"It was a battle of two extremely tough defensive teams," head coach Bethann Ord said. "Once again our road warriors out did themselves and held a team to just 38 points. Our team zoned in and stuck to the game plan and played together."
Late in the first quarter North Texas went on an 8-0 run to give the Mean Green a 13-4 lead. Brittney Dunbar sank a pair of free throws to bring the score to 13-6 at the end of the first quarter.
Weber State held UNT to just four points in the second quarter. The Wildcats only scored one bucket by Regina Okoye but made seven free throws to bring the score within two at 15-17 going into half time.
The Wildcats went off in the third quarter outscoring the Mean Green 21-7. The third quarter started with a 10-0 run by the Wildcats including two back to back three points from Okoye. With 5:15 to go in the third Weber State increased their lead to 10 points with a 27-17 score. After a six minute scoring drought UNT scored its first basket. The score was 36-24 at the end of the third quarter.
The Mean Green started the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run. A free throw by Jocelyn Adams ended the Wildcats six minute scoring drought. Weber State ended the game on a pair of made free throws by Dunbar.
Dunbar and Okoye led the Wildcats with 12 points each. Deeshrya Thomas was close behind with nine points. Adams led the team in rebounding pulling down seven on the night. Thomas and Okoye pulled down five boards each. Dunbar had the game high of three steals and shot 7-8 free throws.
Weber State had 21 turnovers to the Mean Green's 24. Weber State shot 34 percent from the field, 44 percent from the three and 68 percent from the free throw line. North Texas shot 34 percent from the field, 22 percent from the three and 75 percent from the free throw line.
Weber State remains undefeated on the road with 4-0 record and a 5-1 record overall on the season. They will take on Stephen F. Austin in the second game of the Hospitality Hill tournament. The Wildcats will return home to take on in-state rival BYU Dec. 10.
