Men's Track and Field (1963, 1966-69)

   Darol Wintle achieved the top spot in his specialty, claiming the distinction as the first national champion in any sport for Weber State as a four-year school.

   Wintle, from Pleasant View, Utah, was a part of the Weber State track and field squad in the 1960s. He set the national record and was the NCAA Division II national javelin champion in 1968. He still holds the WSU school record in the javelin with a mark of 239-8.

 Wintle earned All-Big Sky Conference honors in 1967 and 1968.
