Kim Benesh led Weber State to the pinnacle of Big Sky Conference volleyball action, earning league MVP honors.
Benesh, from Mount Vernon, Iowa, led Weber State to the 1988 Big Sky Conference Championship. For her season-long efforts, Benesh, an outside hitter, was named the Big Sky MPV as well as postseason tournament MVP. The All-Big Sky performer finished 19th in the nation in kills per game that season, leading the Big Sky in kills and hitting percentage that season.
Weber State finished 32-8 in the 1998 season, advancing to the NCAA Tournament under Coach Cindy Fredrick.
When she graduated, Benesh held the school record for kills in a season (653, 1988), career kills (1,915) and kills in a game (37, 1987).
Benesh was also a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree. Benesh was named All-MWAC second team in 1987, and honorable mention in 1986.
