Men's Cross Country, Men's Track and Field (1976, 1979-81)

   Doug Friedli earned an impressive 11 All-Big Sky Conference postseason honors for his efforts in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field.

   A product of Roy High School, Friedli competed for the Wildcats under Coach Chick Hislop during the late 1970s. He capped his career in 1980 by earning NCAA All-America status in cross country.

   Friedli was a member of WSU's 1980 distance medley relay team that competed in the 1980 indoor championships, grabbing All-America honors. He was a four-time Big Sky Conference champion, in the indoor 1,500 meters, indoor distance relay team, and outdoors steeplechase. Friedli also earned District VII All-Region honors in cross country in 1979.
