Randy Jordan

Football (1976-78)

Inducted March 2002

One of Weber State's top receivers in the early years, Randy Jordan went on to an NFL career.

Jordan, a native of Oakland, California, played for Coach Dick Gwinn and Coach Pete Riehlman, and was a key figure in the Wildcats' storied win over Utah State in 1978.

Jordan, a 6-foot-1, 200-pounder, was named Associated Press NCAA Division I-AA All-American in 1978, setting the seventh-best WSU mark that season with 62 receptions for 1,078 yards and nine touchdowns.

That season, Jordan led the nation in touchdown receptions and receiving yards, and was second in pass receptions.

In Weber State's 44-25 victory over Utah State on Nov. 11, 1978, Jordan had 10 receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats. It is WSU's only football win over the Aggies.

Jordan left WSU with 79 receptions and 1,302 receiving yards to go with 12 touchdowns. Jordan signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent in 1980.
