Carter Campbell

Football (1968-69)

  Carter Campbell was key member of the outstanding Weber State defenses of the 1960s, and helped the Wildcats to much success in the Big Sky Conference.

  Campbell, a 6-foot-4, 240-pounder from Mobile, Alabama, was a two-year starter for Coach Sark Arslanian and played middle defensive guard. He was a two-time First Team All-Big Sky Conference honoree, and was named First Team All-American in 1969 by the American Football Coaches Association, claiming second team honors from the Associated Press.

 In the 1969 season, The Wildcats went 7-2-0 and were declared Big Sky Conference tri-champions. The Wildcats went 6-4-0 in Campbell's senior season.

  Campbell played a pair of seasons with the New York Giants, a year with the Denver Broncos, then with the San Francisco 49ers.
