Men's Track and Field (1957-58)

   Carl M. Holmes was a one-man wrecking crew in junior college track and field competitions, winning the NJCAA mile run in 1957.

   Holmes, a native Utahn, was the 1957 JC mile champion, and finished as runner-up in the half-mile race. He led Weber Junior College to a second-place team finish at the NJCAA National Meet in 1957.

   Holmes was the ICAC champion in the mile and half-mile races in 1958 and 1958, and set conference records in both races. He was named Standard-Examiner Athlete of the Year at Weber in 1958. He also won the BYU Junior College Meet in the mile and half-mile races.
