The Weber State Women's basketball team couldn't find an effective offensive pace and fell 71-42 to the University of Idaho Thursday night.

"The girls battled tonight we just couldn't knock down shots," head coach Bethann Ord said. "It's not that we don't have the confidence, things just weren't falling for us."

Idaho started the game with a 12-4 run that Weber State answered with a six point run. With 13:13 remaining in the first half the Vandals went on an 11-2 run and ended the first half with a 42-24 score. Weber State couldn't pick up the pace offensively and started the half with a nine minute scoring drought. With 11:45 remaining in the game Weber State went on a 5-2 run but the effort wasn't enough and the Vandals ended the game with a 71-42 victory.

The Wildcats were led by freshman Jocelyn Adams and senior Zakiyyah Shahid-Martin who each had seven points for the Wildcats. Sira Toure and Regina Okoye each had six points. Shahid-Martin had a game high of eight rebounds and Okoye had seven steals.

With Okoye's seven steals on the night she broke Weber State's single season steal record. She has 106 so far on the 2014-15 season.  She averages 3.78 steals per game. Okoye currently holds the single game steals record with her 10 against San Diego earlier this season. She surpassed the career steals record this season and now holds the record with 266 in her career.

Weber State shot 21 percent from the field, 70.6 percent from the three and 16.7 percent from the free throw line. The Wildcats were out rebounded by Idaho 51-46. Weber State had 15 turnovers to Idahos's 17.

Idaho's Stacy Barr had 21 points. Idaho shot 40.7 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free throw line.

The Wildcats will travel to Eastern Washington for the final game of the season Saturday at 3 p.m. You can catch the action live on WatchBigSky.com or through the watch Big Sky App.
