Zach Braxton named Big Sky Player of the Week

OGDEN – After leading Weber State to two home wins WSU junior Zach Braxton has been named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week. Braxton earned the honor after his performances in WSU's home wins over North Dakota and Northern Colorado last week.

Braxton, a native of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, averaged 23.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game and shot 61 percent from the field in leading Weber State to two home wins last week. 

He scored 22 points with seven rebounds on 8 of 13 shooting in Thursday's win over North Dakota. He followed that up with a career-high 25 points and tied his career-high with 13 rebounds on 11 of 18 shooting in Saturday's overtime win over Northern Colorado. 

Braxton also averaged 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
 
On the season he is averaging 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He continues to lead the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 58.3 percent. 
 
This is Braxton's first career Big Sky Player of the Week honor and the first for Weber State this season.

The Wildcats have won seven-straight games and sit at 17-7 overall and are in second place in the Big Sky at 10-2. WSU it's the road at Portland State Thursday and Sacramento State on Saturday this week.
