Weber State Athletics has named Riley Jensen as a Mental Performance Coach for Wildcat student-athletes.Â
In his role, Jensen will work with all Wildcat coaches and student-athletes to teach the concepts of resilience, confidence, positivity, grit, and personal mastery.Â
"We are excited to have Riley join our department and for the opportunity to now have resources in place for our student-athletes to develop foundational sport psychology skills and strategies that will assist them in their training and performance success," said Amy Crosbie, Weber State's Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. "This is an important initiative and Riley is extremely motivated to fill this spot."

"This job is a terrific opportunity and I look forward to aiding the Weber State athletics program," Jensen said. "Weber State has a strong tradition of coaches and teams, and I look forward to complimenting their efforts to build champions both in and out of the arena. I would like to thank the Director of Athletics, Jerry Bovee, for his confidence in my abilities, and for the opportunity to help student-athletes at Weber State University to reach their full potential."
Jensen has been playing or coaching high school and collegiate football for more than 27 years. Over the past seven years, he has been part owner and co-founder of the Mountain West Elite sports camps which operate in several states.
Jensen earned first-team All-American honors at Snow Junior College and then transfered to Utah State where he started at quarterback. He was recently named to the Snow College Football Hall of Fame. He earned a B.A. from Utah State University and completed his M.S. in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Utah. He studied under the world-renowned tutelage of Dr. Nicole Detling, and interned with Utah's football and tennis teams.
Jensen currently lives in Salt Lake City. He and his wife Georgann have two children Alexis (5) and Jack (3).
