Liz Eaton will be joining the Weber State women's basketball team for the 2018-19 season, as announced by Bethann Ord on Tuesday.

Eaton, the Mapleton, UT native, comes to Ogden from Brigham Young University where she spent the past two seasons. She posted averages of 3.1 ppg and 1.7 rebounds per game during her sophomore campaign in the 2017-18 season. Eaton tallied a season high 12 points against Washington. She will have to sit out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules.

"We look forward to having Liz join our team and are excited to get her integrated into our program," Ord said. "She is a tough-nosed player whose game fits into our style of basketball and she has a winner's mindset. I look forward to having her on our roster and are eager to get to work with her."

During her prep career, Eaton led the state of Utah in scoring in 2015 and 2016 averaging 28.0 points per game. In addition, she was the fifth leading rebounder (11.2) and ranked eighth in steals (4.0) in the state of Utah. She was named as the state 4A MVP in 2016, was a two-time Daily Herald Offensive Player of the Year, a Deseret News 4A All-State Third Team selection, two-time Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune 4A All-State First Team, as well as a two-time Daily Herald First Team All-State player. She played AAU ball for Salt Lake Metro.

Liz is the daughter of Alan and Aleisa Eaton and has six brothers and sisters. Her sister Lexi Eaton Rydalch played at BYU from 2011 to 2016 and was drafted in the third round of the WNBA draft by the Seattle Storm.
