FLAGSTAFF, AZ - The Weber State women's soccer team began its last Big Sky Conference regular season road trip with a double-overtime 1-1 draw against Northern Arizona.
The Wildcats fought hard throughout the first half. However, in the 29th minute, Northern Arizona's Taylor Fu found the back of the net with her head to put the Lumberjacks up 1-0. The Wildcats continued to fight strong and found relief in the 41st minute when Jasmine Lotey scored to tie the game 1-1. This is her second goal of the season, and her career. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie.
Weber State found more shots in the second half than the first. Mylee Broad, Haley Thomas, and Taylor Scadlock all gave the Wildcats opportunities to find the win. Both NAU's goalkeeper, Tayrn Benham, and WSU senior goalkeeper, Nikki Pittman, thwarted any attempt from the opposing side. At 90 minutes the game was still tied 1-1, and forced into overtime. This is the eighth overtime game for the Wildcats this season, and the second in a row.
Neither Weber State nor Northern Arizona was able to find a goal to end the game in overtime, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie at 110 minutes.
Up next, the Wildcats will take on Southern Utah in their last regular-season game this Sunday, October 27th at 1:00 pm MT in Cedar City, Utah.
