Weber State football adds 17 for 2019 signing class

OGDEN - Weber State football and head coach Jay Hill have announced the addition of 17 players to join the Wildcat program as part of the 2019 National Signing Day.Â
The class, which includes five players signed in December, is made up of eight players from the state of Utah, four from California, two from Idaho, two from Washington and one from Louisiana. The 'Cats includes three transfers and 14 high school players.
"Once again we're really excited for this signing class," Hill said. "We really like the talent from top to bottom and have a great mix of offense and defense. We continue to stay true to our recruiting philosophy of a lot of recruits from Utah and supplemented from other states around the area. We're really excited to have this group come in and see how they play."
Weber State has won back-to-back Big Sky Conference titles for the first time in school history and finished the 2018 season with a 10-3 record, advancing to the FCS Quarterfinals for the second-straight year. The Wildcats had seven players earn All-America honors in 2018 and had a school record 13 players named to the Big Sky All-Conference first team.Â
Spring practice begins on March 13 with the 2019 season beginning Aug. 31 at San Diego State. The six-game home schedule will begin on Sept. 7 against Cal Poly. Season tickets for Wildcat football are on sale now at WeberStateSports.com.Â
