Weber State announces 2019-20 men's basketball schedule

OGDEN - Four non-conference games against in-state opponents, a tournament in Florida, 15 homes games and a full Big Sky schedule highlight the 2019-20 Weber State men's basketball schedule.Â

After an exhibition game on Nov. 2, the Wildcats open the season on Nov. 8 at Utah State, which will be the first of four non-conference games against in-state teams, all on the road.Â
Â
WSU will return home to host the University of San Diego on Nov. 14 in the home opener.Â
Â
As part of the Gulf Coast Showcase, WSU will host West Coast Baptist on Nov. 19 at the Dee Events Center, before heading to Estero, Florida for three games in the tournament, Nov. 25-27. The Wildcats will open against Wright State, then take on Murray State or LaSalle in the second round, before playing either Drake, Miami (Ohio), Northeastern or South Alabama in the final game.Â

Weber State will open December playing at Utah Valley on Dec. 4, before returning home to host Westcliff University on Dec. 7.Â

The Wildcats will face the University of Utah in the Beehive Classic on Dec. 14 at the Vivint SmartHome Arena in Salt Lake City. It will be Weber State's first game against the Utes in eight years.Â

Weber State will host Bethesda on Dec. 17 before the final non-conference game on Dec. 21 at BYU.Â

The Wildcats will open the 20-game Big Sky Conference schedule on Dec. 28 at home against Eastern Washington, and will conclude on March 7 at Eastern Washington.Â

The Big Sky Tournament will be held March 11-14 In Boise, Idaho.Â

Weber State returns eight players off last year's team, led by first-team All-Big Sky performer Jerrick Harding. Head coach Randy Rahe returns for his 14th season as head coach of the Wildcats.Â

"This is one of the toughest non-conference schedules we've faced and we are excited for the challenge," Rahe said. "This non-conference schedule will prepare us really well for the always challenging Big Sky schedule. We have a great group of players returning and I'm really looking forward to the season."

Due to scheduling conflicts, Fresno State was not able to return a game to Ogden this year, but the Bulldogs are scheduled to come to the Dee Events Center during the 2020-21 season.
