Wildcats win 14 events at 2020 Snake River Open

POCATELLLO - Weber State's men's and women's indoor track and field teams held their first meet of 2020, competing at the Snake River Open in Pocatello.
The two teams combined to win 14 events and had several marks on the all-time top 10.
Women
The Wildcat women dominated the meet, winning 10 of the 15 events. Weber State took first place in seven track events and won four field events.
Emily Morgan-King took first place in the 60 meters and the 200 meters. She tied her career-best time of 7.55 in the 60 meters, which is the third fastest time in WSU history. She followed that by winning the title in the 200 meters with a career-best time of 24.76, which is now the sixth fastest in school history.
Kate Sorensen also took home two first place finishes, winning the 60 meter hurdles and the 400 meters. Sorensen had a career best time of 8.59 to win the 60 meter hurdles, now the fourth best time in Weber State history. She won the 400 meters with a time of 57.75.
MarLee Mitchell was the top collegiate finisher in the mile at 5:05.49, with Isabella Williams and Cheyenne Leatham right behind. The Wildcats also won the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:55.61.
In the field events, WSU won four events. Megan Larkins took first place in the weight throw with a mark of 54-02.50, which is the seventh best in WSU history. Sophie Merritt was first in the shot put at 48-05.50.
Paige Van Meeteren took first place in the high jump with a mark of 5-07. Talia Reza was first in the long jump at 17-02.75, with Alyisa Shelley taking second place.
Men
The Wildcat men's team took first place in four events and had several other high finishes.
Cyrus Rindlisbacher was first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50. Austin Byrer took home first place in the 3,000 meters at 8:27.42. Taylor Dillon was second and Tyson Green was third in the event.
Isaac Tillett took second in the 60 meters at 7.02 and Muamer Mujic was second in the 200 meters with a time of 23.20. The 'Cats were also second in the 1600 meter relay.
In the field events, Trey Devereaux won the pole vault with a mark of 16-08.75. That mark is a career best and ranks as the third best in Weber State history.
Eli Beard won the title in the shot put with a mark of 50-05.25.

Weber State will be back in action Jan. 24-25 at the Ed Jacoby Invitational at Boise State.
